Biography:

I was born in Howick and lived there until moving to Wellington in early adolescence. Since graduating from Victoria University I have travelled extensively, living for many years in London, and, more recently, in Melbourne. I undertook art training in both those cities. I have exhibited in Melbourne and in New Zealand and my work is currently available in several galleries.

I am now living in Tairua, the scene of many childhood holidays. I divide my time between painting in Tairua and working part-time in Auckland as a psychotherapist and art therapist. Working as an art therapist I use the creative process to help resolve life's difficulties. I appreciate the space and beauty of the Coromandel and find this reflects both diectly and indirectly in my paintings.

Most recently my work has become more abstract and focussed on colour. I have been breaking up pictorial space and working on a flatter picture plane. The paintings tend to be fragmented, energetic and colourful. They are painted in artist's quality oils on canvas or board. A small number of works on paper are also available, as are my papier mache statues and handmade artist's sketch books.

'Some Things: Kina', oil on board, 44 x 30 cm

'Goldfish', oil on canvas, 30 x 25cm

'Porcelain', oil on canvas, 30 x 25 cm.

'Coming to Light'. oil on  board. 40 x 40cm
