Biography:

Rachel was born in Auckland in 1963, and has lived on the Coromandel since 1989.

In 1981 she began working with stained glass, and explored the medium for 15 years, during which time she established her own business, supplying galleries throughout NZ with her glasswork and undertaking many commission works.

In 1997, feeling the desire to work with a 'freer' medium she began to paint and had her first solo exhibition in Whitianga in 1999.

Rachel paints in vibrant acrylics, capturing the character and beauty of the Coromandel and beyond in her own rich and distinctive style.
A natural ability to draw and compose pictures combined with an understanding of colour and line enable her to create unique and compelling works.

Her paintings evoke a feeling of familiarity and can remind us of times and places close to our hearts.
