I started painting many years ago and had to give it up when the first of my two daughters was born. I got back into it again full-time when we became permanent residents of Hahei in December 2000. I am largely self-taught and have found this process to be very challenging and interesting.
My main focus has been portraiture and figure work and I still find this exciting. However I am also experimenting with a looser technique, in sea and landscapes, to achieve a more impressionistic effect.
At the very least, the painting process is fun, problematic, pleasurable, and sometimes extraordinarily rewarding.
