Biography:

We have worked together for nearly 20 years now, as Potters, Gardeners, Sculptors, Painters, Designers, Earth Builders, Parents and Partners. We used to work under the name “Animal Crackers” Pottery, and worked from our home at Cooks Beach.

Silent Art Auction with work from a variety of artists held over 4 days.
Closes mid-day Monday.

We have learnt to appreciate each others strengths, weaknesses and differences, and using our combined skills, we have been able to construct our Biggest Sculpture yet…a 2 –Storey Stabilized Adobe House (Living Space). Over the past 4 years we have hand placed hundreds of tonnes of Earth, mixed that with a lot of hard work and perseverance.

Our Project is called “Artists House”. It incorporates our Artwork; displayed in a Gallery, in Garden Setting, and Studio; Workshops usually explore working with Earth, including a wide variety of new mixes we have developed,, pottery or an Art Development Theme…we are planning a week long Bronze Workshop in Late February, early March 2006; unique Accommodation available soon, and we offer guided Tours of our House and Garden.

After 4 years of building the “8th Wonder of the World”, we are getting back into Production. Besides the Garden Sculpture (Pottery) we have become known for, we have added Paintings, and an exciting new medium we call “Earth Fondue”. It is constructed over a steel aperture, doesn’t require firing, thus allowing for freedom with size and form.

We are situated on State Highway 25, half way between Whitianga and Tairua. We have a shared Entrance with Alan Rhodes Pottery. Our developing acre of Gardens include a Bird Corridor, Edible Ornamentals, assorted fruits and berries, and Medallion vegetable gardens, a planned “overland waterway reserve”, incorporating Permaculture Concepts. The whole property reflects our ideals, and is a Statement of Who we Are. It is a Demonstration of Modern Sustainable living, an example of an Artisan Life Style, plenty of Creative Problem Solving, Recycling…basically inspiration!
