I began my art career as an 8 year old painting pictures of Hahei Beach. Upon leaving New Zealand, at age 18, I continued my art in the desert of Southern California selling from an Indian Trading Post. I then went on to opening a pottery/sculpting studio where I taught and continued to paint desert landscapes, supplying art to the Joshua Tree National Park.
In 1983, life took a different turn and I found myself owning and operating an airport. I sold this venture in 1998, and returned to my native New Zealand setting up my current studio/gallery in Hahei.
I attempt to capture, in my paintings, the inherent space and isolation of New Zealand’s beauty, along with the tranquility and magic of the Coromandel experience.
I work in a variety of mediums including watercolors, acrylics and inks. My work can be found in commercial and private collections worldwide. I presently teach painting workshops and sell through my own Studio/Gallery.
