ARTIST BIO
My art career started as an 8 year old painting pictures of Hahei. At 18 I left New Zealand. I continued to paint landscapes of the California Desert, for an Indian Trading Post and Joshua Tree National Park. I also opened a pottery studio.
In 1983 I found myself owning and operating an airport, however I still found time to paint. Upon selling it, in 1998, I returned to New Zealand and set up my current Studio/Gallery.
I attempt to capture the color, light, space and isolation of New Zealand's beauty along with the magic of the Coromandel experience. I work in a variety of mediums including watercolors, acrylics and inks, painting mostly landscapes of the Coromandel.
