Biography:

George Baloghy is an established New Zealand artist specialising in Urban Landscapes, Coastal and Rural Landscapes, Art Historical Whimsies, as well as commissioned work for individual clients. He deals with a number of different themes, and these threads of ideas intertwine over the years of his production, creating pictures that can be viewed at a number of levels, some banal, some symbolic, some historic, some humorous. There is generally more to the pictures than meets the eye, depending on your knowledge of art history and sometimes local events. He is considered one of the foremost artists in New Zealand, frequently published and reviewed. His work is included in the curricula of University Art History Programmes, and he has work in all the major public art collections in the country. He has worked professionally as an artist since 1993.
