Biography:I am a painter, sculptor and musician and also owner of Eggsentric Café and Gallery in Flaxmill Bay next to Cooks Beach and close to Whitianga. I am an avid promoter of the arts because I believe they make our community a better place and am constantly frustrated with the poor value placed on artists.I also believe the arts should stand on it’s own two feet and initiatives like the open studio weekend can only help this process. My own art comes from a deep, dark place. I am a socialable person who has continual contact with people through my work but have a driven need to express the inner soul where beauty and sadness, aggression and peace are often difficult to separate. It is the pursuit of the achingly beautiful that occupies most of my time mainly through the female nude but also through colour, texture and movement. My exhibitions include: |
