Chris is a significant New Zealand artist, whose beautifully wrought pieces speak not only to people of Pacific island descent, but to us all who make the Pacific their home.
The physicality of Chris’ pieces has always been a striking feature, whether objects of body adornment or large free standing sculptures, whether sited on the body or within an architectural space; the monumentality inherent in ancient Pacific adornment pieces is successfully translated to the here and now.
