Park on Patricia Place. Biography:Born Wanganui 1934, majored in Art and English at Wellington Teachers’ College. Then evening ceramic class with Doreen Blumhardt. In U.S. more or less self-taught, established studio then a co-operative gallery. Later in Ohio BFA and MFA ceramics, Ohio State University, during graduate study switched to bronze casting and figurative sculpture, then conceptual sculpture. Subsequently, maintained studio and exhibition schedule while spending 7 years as gallery director. After 1981 while represented by Urdang Gallery N.Y. independent curating and articles for art magazines. Now, Director of Programs, The Artists’ Organization and www.artistsonart.org. Exhibitions and lectures abroad include series in China, Ukraine and New Zealand. Principal studio work ‘74 –‘90’s - experimental series of inflatables used for personal exploration of structure, biology and the formation of the universe; a recent return to bronze.
