ARTIST BIO
Born in Switzerland, where she gained experience and schooling in colour and design work, which has now become an integral part of her ability to control and master these aspects of her work.
Her tremendous interest in contemporary European architecture in the 80s and 90s is often visible in her dynamic and interesting work – thus explaining the unique approach and understanding she has with shapes.
In 2003 Verena moved to Whitianga, Coromandel Peninsula. Here she has pursued her love for painting inspired by her new environment. Perpetually exploring new directions and mediums, pushing boundaries, discovering intricate relationships, reflecting her thought and emotions
Verena works in acrylic and mixed media, in both figurative, expressionist and abstract styles.
