Mercury Bay artist Lucy Horne went to Elam Art School in Auckland in 1974. Three years later she had her first exhibition ‘Beginnings’ at the Waikato Society of Arts.
During the 1980s, she had three exhibitions in Auckland – in 1981 ‘Room of Views’ at Closet Artist, in 1983 Jessica’s Dreams at Just Desserts and in 1986 she showed at the Auckland Society of Arts.
Lucy’s work was on show in the 1990s at the Upstairs Gallery of Fine Arts in Whitianga and she had two more exhibitions there in 2003 and 2005.
In 2002 and 2004 she had watercolour exhibitions at the Mercury Bay Museum. There was another watercolour exhibition at Artbox in Whitianga in 2005.
Lucy took a break from painting for a while, but recently showed 31 new oils on canvas at an exhibition at Artbox.
