I am a 34 year old painter/designer/landscaper, living in Whitianga.
I am currently interested in exploring the idea of vistas within the local landscape using various examples of native New Zealand fauna as a foreground to iconic scenes of the Coromandel Peninsula.
Being involved in various revegetation projects in the area has given me a deeper appreciation of the beauty of our native fauna and the particular fragility of our coastal environment. I hope to be able to encourage or at least bring attention to the idea that a landscape can in fact be enhanced by the planting of native trees, as opposed to their removal just because 'they get in the way of the view'.
